1) If you took E. Maths at the “O” Levels, and choose to
take this module, and scored:
• B3 and above – You will need to put in effort
• B4 and below - You will need to put in EXTRA effort ( I happened to fall in this range :/)
2) Please reconsider this module if your GPA is below 3.0 Why?
– You may want to focus on getting a good GPA instead of doing well in Calculus
– After all, admission is primarily based on GPA.
– In SMU, conditional entry may be offered so long as you pass their foundational maths bridging module in year 1 [Well, I fall under this too :( ]
3) Will the results of the Calculus module affect my GPA?
As this is an optional module, the results will have no impact on your GPA. You will still be awarded a grade for this module if you pass, and this will be reflected in your academic transcript. However, if you fail the module, the results will not be reflected in your academic transcript
4) Can I choose to drop out from the module halfway if I cannot cope?
You have to decide to drop out before the 2nd week of classes. However, if
you decide to drop out after that, you would be debarred from the exams if
your attendance goes below 85%. This information will not be reflected in
your academic transcript.
Putting that aside, I still don't think I will make it to Uni. So, back to it, with all the above considerations, should I go for it? I know it won't be an easy subject, it will only add on to my additional workload in year 3. So, how how how?
I seriously need some advice on this. Pls vote for me. I'm lost. :(
